Buyer confidence research

Understanding trust before a purchase or enquiry

People often decide whether to continue browsing within seconds. This survey explores the information and safeguards that help a visitor judge a listing, a vendor and the next step with greater confidence.

Why we are asking

Trust is not created by a single badge. It can depend on accurate descriptions, clear pricing, realistic images, vendor identity, refund or cancellation information, reviews and an understandable way to report a concern. Different types of listings also need different evidence: a local service is assessed differently from a digital product or an affiliate offer. Your feedback helps identify which signals are genuinely useful rather than merely decorative.

What this survey explores

  • The details you check before contacting a vendor or following an offer.
  • The warnings, policies or verification signals that reduce uncertainty.
  • The situations that would make you leave a listing without taking action.

How feedback may be used

The responses may guide future wording, information hierarchy and trust-related marketplace tools. Results are considered alongside moderation capacity, legal obligations and the practical differences between listing types. Feedback may reveal patterns, but it does not prove that any individual vendor or transaction is safe; visitors should still review the relevant terms and use their own judgment.

Privacy reminder: Do not name or accuse a private individual in an open response, and do not submit order numbers, card details or private correspondence. Use the reporting or contact channel for a specific dispute. Survey responses are intended for general product research and may be analysed as grouped themes.
